| Step 1.- Begin with a black surface for most dramatic results. ( If you need to paint the substrate black you will need the Xposures® black base sold separately)
Step 2.- You will now begin applying Xposures® using very light coats making a few passes until desired results are achieved.
DO NOT thin the Xposures® material itself. You will simply open up the fluid to the gun further then normal and increase your air pressure (also shake the bottle well prior to pouring). A very easy check to insure adequate coverage is to expose the piece to a source of heat and observe the color intensity, if more Xposures® is desired simply apply another light coat or two.
Step 3.-
Let the Xposures® layer completely dry. (usually within 30 min. air dry depending on conditions)
Step 4.-
Apply the Xposures® U.V. Inhibitor included with your Xposures® purchase beginning with light coats. Allow to dry between coats and re-apply until desired gloss is achieved.
The UV Inhibitor can be thinned prior to spraying by using regular Mineral Spirits (non-odorless) at a ratio of no more than 20% (keep in mind a thinner layer will require multiple coats). Also this UV must be fully dry.
Step 5.- Allow to fully dry. (At least 1-2 hrs. air dry depending on coat thickness is crucial to allow the U.V. Inhibitor to fully dry. This will require baking overnight if necessary to insure it is completely dry to the touch or the final clear will penetrate and kill the Xposures® results.
Step 6.- Apply Alsa Clear (AC138) with appropriate Hardener; USE ONLY Alsa AC138 Clear as any other clear could migrate through the U.V. Inhibitor killing your Xposures® finish. |
